Litter Box Training...for Your Dog?
Cats and dogs are very different. There are certain things about keeping one that are easier than the other. Those who are “cat people” frequently make the point that cleaning up after a cat is much easier than cleaning up after a dog. Cats will almost always use a litter box, while most dogs need to go outside, use a “potty patch,” or require piddle pads.
Here's something that you might not know, though: you can train your dog to use a litter box as well. It is true! It is best to begin this method of housetraining when your dog is young and hasn't yet established a routine. Older animals who respond well to training can also easily pick it up, however. How can this be accomplished? Find out by clicking the link below.

Remember that there will be accidents when training your dog to use a litter box. Be patient with them and only reinforce the good behavior, not punish the bad stuff. A couple of accidents are inevitable as your dog learns. (None of us are perfect!) One key to successful litter box training is to eliminate the odors from these spots so your dog does not repeatedly soil them. For pesky smells that seem to linger, there are many products on the market. Here's our input on one type that has had exceptional results:

Best of luck - with patience and persistence, you can say goodbye to doo-doo bags forever.
